Find out how you can unite your team around a shared purpose and create lasting change in your local community.

Why should your business fundraise for Turning Tides?

There are many reasons to consider fundraising for Turning Tides. Supporting us gives your company the chance to make a real difference – because when you think about it, can you be certain that all your colleagues have a safe, secure home to return to after work?

If we’re speaking your language, consider this our pitch.

  • Social impact: Your fundraising directly improves the lives of people experiencing homelessness in the West Sussex community. Money you raise could help pay for a day of outreach, fund a counselling session, provide vital medical equipment or even just buy a hot meal. Every pound translates into real, meaningful support for someone in need.
  • Employee engagement: Taking on a challenge brings your team together in a meaningful way. Fundraising activities boost morale and foster a sense of shared purpose while bonding on a more personal level. It’s also helpful for recruitment, as 47% of people are more inclined to work for a business if it donates to charitable causes*.
  • Corporate responsibility: Raising money for charity shows that your organisation takes its role in the community seriously. By contributing to local initiatives, you show customers, stakeholders and employees that your company is committed to social responsibility. This visible commitment strengthens your brand, builds trust and reinforces your organisation’s values.

Other ways you can make a difference

Fundraising isn’t the best match for every business, but there are other valuable ways you can support our clients:

  • Partnering: Could your company offer its services to people rebuilding their lives? For example, Unite Fitness in East Grinstead provides discounted gym memberships and personalised support plans to residents in our nearby Move On property. Their generosity has given people access and confidence to prioritise their health and fitness, helping with mental health and resilience. Get in touch if your organisation has services to offer.
  • Donating: Making a financial donation is a simple yet powerful way to help us continue our work. Every contribution, no matter the size, goes directly into our services and ensures we can keep supporting people who need us most.
  • Volunteering: Your team can also give their time. Volunteering together not only makes a tangible difference for people experiencing homelessness, it’s also a fantastic way to strengthen team spirit and see the impact of your efforts first-hand.

We know it’s rewarding – but don’t just take our word for it!

The Hackett Group have been fundraising for us since 2023. Whether taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks, a FIFA tournament or climbing the highest peaks in the Lake District, no challenge is too big for this team. In this video, Managing Director David Ketchin talks about our partnership and how inspired his team were following a visit to our Worthing day centre.
