🏠👏 Worthing Borough Council, Worthing Homes, 🏠👏 Worthing Borough Council, Worthing Homes, Turning Tides and Homes England are joining forces to create 21 new apartments for homeless people in Worthing. 🚧 The project will demolish the empty Skywaves House in Ivy Arch Road and build a three-storey development with on-site support staff and eco-friendly features. 🗣️John Holmstrom, the Chief Executive of Turning Tides, said: “We are absolutely delighted to support Worthing Borough Council in our collective mission to end rough sleeping locally. “This new accommodation service will be transformative to the residents supported, and we thank Worthing Homes for its support in developing this service in partnership with us.” 💰 The project has secured more than £4m of funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. 🗓️ The first residents are expected to move in by 2025. 🗣️ Cllr Emma Taylor-Beal, Worthing’s cabinet member for housing and citizen services, said: “These new apartments will allow us to put a roof over the heads of some of the least resilient members of our community.” Please visit our news page for the full article > https://www.turning-tides.org.uk/pioneering-partnership-to-help-tackle-homelessness-in-worthing/ #endinglocalhomelessness #housing #sussex
