About the Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. Your primary duties will include performing preventive and reactive maintenance tasks, identifying and addressing issues promptly, and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facilities and equipment. 
  • Perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems as needed. 
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. 
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. 
  • Collaborate with other team members and external contractors to complete projects. 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures. 

About You

We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys solving problems. You should have a strong technical background and be comfortable working with a variety of tools and equipment. Your ability to troubleshoot and think on your feet will be essential in ensuring our facilities are well-maintained and operating efficiently. 

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Operative or in a similar role. 
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. 
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • A valid driver’s license  – essential
  • Floor laying experience and skills (lino, carpet, laminate for example) – Not essential.
