Leave a gift
in your will

Your legacy will help future generations

When you leave a gift in your will to Turning Tides, you’re helping people facing homelessness to find safety and stability – not just today, but for years to come. Leaving a gift in your will doesn’t have to be complicated. Once you’ve provided for the people you love, even a small share of what’s left can make a big difference to someone who has nowhere else to go. It’s also worth knowing that gifts to charity can reduce or even remove inheritance tax on your estate, helping your generosity to go even further.

How to give

There are three main ways you can remember Turning Tides in your will:

  • Specific gift: leave an item such as property, jewellery or furniture
  • Cash gift: choose a set amount of money to donate
  • Residuary gift: leave what’s left of your estate once loved ones and any costs are taken care of

To make sure your will is valid and your wishes are carried out, we recommend using a solicitor or professional will writer.

For me, the whole thing with Turning Tides is about engaging and encouragement. It’s all done from a kind heart. Compassion. Never had that before. I sobered up my second year. This is the time I now find me and start doing things for me. That includes finding work and finding what I’m good at. I can’t afford to buckle and go off track. Everything I’ve learnt in two years, I’ll continue to do for the rest of my life.
