A bit about the role:

As a Breakfast Club Cook and Helper you will be ask:

  • To create a warm and welcoming environment for our clients
  • To prepare, cook and serve the breakfast items

What goes on here?

Littlehampton Community Hub provides a vital service to those that are homeless, vulnerably housed and on a low income in the Littlehampton area.

We work with a range of organisations to give clients advice and support, and make it easier to access these services for the first time.

Our Services include

  • Breakfast
  • Access to showers and laundry facilities
  • IT provision
  • Groups – including Meet and Eat, CV writing, Housing advice, mental health and substance misuse

What will I be doing?

  • Cooking hot breakfast items
  • Welcoming our clients and taking their breakfast orders
  • Making hot and cold drinks and promoting a welcoming environment
  • Taking plates and cups, loading and unloading the dishwasher
  • Reporting to staff members any problems

Assisting with kitchen duties.

What Training will I receive?

Turning Tides offers volunteers training so your time volunteering is the best it can be, is as safe as possible, and of course adds value to your experience and to Turning Tides.

Every volunteer regardless of role will have their initial induction. The induction will cover Professional Boundaries, Safeguarding, and Equality and Diversity and you will be issued with a volunteer handbook and code of conduct.  You will also have a site-specific health and safety site specific induction.  There will be a chance for you to ask any questions.

Each role has specific online training that you need to commit to complete.  Dependant on role this can be between 30 mins to 1 hr.  This will be discussed further at your induction.

It is Turning Tides’ hope and expectation that as a volunteer you will:

  • Be inclusive and welcoming
  • Communicate with staff on duty
  • Be flexible to the needs of the staff member on duty.
  • Abide by the Confidentiality, Professional Boundaries and Health and Safety Policies at all times

Sign Up Process

All of Turning Tides’ roles require two character references. These references do not need to be employment references, however, we cannot accept references from family members.
