Worthing and Littlehampton - Support Co-ordinator

(Fixed Term for 12 months)

Salary – £24,482.40

37.5 hours per week

Turning Tides mission is to end local homelessness in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. The charity has grown significantly over the last five years to be able to achieve this. In 2018 we acquired accommodation in East Grinstead, opened a 34 bed assessment centre in Worthing and set up an assertive outreach service to rough sleepers across Mid Sussex. We have over 100 staff and 300 volunteers.

The Support Co-ordinator is another exciting new role for the organisation. This is funded by Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s Rapid Rehousing Programme, in partnership with West Sussex Country Council and the District and Boroughs.

It is recognised that some of our most vulnerable clients across West Sussex have unmet multiple needs. This can often cause difficulties when trying to engage with services in a productive and long-term arrangement. As a Support Co-ordinator (SC) you will be responsible for engaging with individuals as part of a wider multidisciplinary team including Substance Misuse, Social Work and Mental Health Workers.

The SC will support people through their journeys from rough sleeping to accommodation. The post holder will be expected to navigate local service provision, building strong relationships with a range of different professionals whilst advocating on the individual’s behalf

We are looking for individuals who are dynamic and have experience of working with vulnerable people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services. You will also have experience of supporting clients and addressing their needs through effective case work management as well as a good understanding of the benefits and application of reflective practice.

We offer a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave rising annually up to 28 days. We are committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities and have a comprehensive training package offered with this role.

A full job description and person specification along with an application form are available to download from the links below. Please be advised that we will only accept applications made on our application form and do not accept CVs.
