Woolly Hat Day

February 2022

Commit to the knit

Woolly Hat Day, our annual fundraiser, is back! We are calling on the community to ‘commit to the knit’ this Friday 18th February to make a stand against homelessness.

Everyone is invited to take part – from schools and youth groups, to businesses and congregations – just pop on your best woolly hat on the 18th February and donate to Turning Tides to help fund our vital services supporting local people experiencing homelessness. With a suggested donation of £3, why not swap your Friday coffee order for a donation?

The fundraised money will be crucial in supporting local people on their pathway out of homelessness. This winter, a staggering 227,000 households across the UK are facing homelessness. Turning Tides’ volunteers and staff continue to ensure the safety and wellbeing of anyone without a home throughout West Sussex; hot meals are offered at our Community Hubs in Worthing and Littlehampton whilst Outreach workers scour the countryside across Horsham and Mid Sussex.

We are encouraging everyone to get involved in Woolly Hat Day as an opportunity to fundraise but also a chance to raise awareness and bring the whole community together in solidarity to make a stand against homelessness; by donning a hat you are showing that you care about anyone that has no safe place to call home.

Don’t forget to share your Woolly Hat Day photos across social media to help spread awareness and compassion. Make sure to use the hashtag #woollyhatday2022 and tag Turning Tides @turningtidesorg so we can see your fantastic efforts!
