Waking Night Shift: 10pm- 8.30am

 

Turning Tides is a multi-functional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has over 100 staff and 300 volunteers. Its mission is to end the need to sleep rough.

Turning Tides has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to embark on a new role within our Lyndhurst Road Project as a Waking Night Worker.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and dedicated individual to join our Waking Night Team based within this accommodation service. The Waking Night team consists of two workers on site each night and will be responsible for providing support and to safeguard our 34 residents, including dealing with emergencies. You will be required to undertake regular building patrols through the building and monitoring through the CCTV system. You will also have responsibility for maintaining a full and accurate log of events and reporting on incidents and any maintenance issues.

The role will require you to work three or four night shifts per week starting at 10pm and finishing at 8.30am, as part of a 24/7 service, including some weekends. You will have good communication skills and an awareness of the issues that affect homeless individuals. You will be passionate about working for a charity that is striving for communities without homelessness.

You must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage and plan your own workload and meet deadlines and targets is essential. Basic IT Skills and in particular Microsoft Outlook and Excel are a must.
