Flexible a few hours per week, between 9am and 3pm

Project Background:       

St Clare’s Community Hub is open Monday to Saturday throughout the year and offers a drop in service for anyone who needs access to our services. A drop in service is available every morning.

Services include hot and cold food, showers, clothing, laundry, I.T. provision, advice, information and signposting. The service is a referral route into local supported housing. The service is also a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Role Purpose:

The Volunteer Laundry Assistant will support laundering of clients clothing, machine washing, tumble drying and preparing for clients to collect it. Taking care to ensure clients’ belongings aren’t mixed up.

Main duties:

To collect laundry, machine wash and tumble dry before re-bagging in preparation for clients to collect.

Additional requirements to be adhered to at all times:

  • To be inclusive and welcoming.
  • To communicate with staff on duty.
  • To be flexible to the needs of the staff member on duty..
  • To abide by the Confidentiality, Professional Boundaries and Health and Safety Policies at all times.


Flexible, ideally a couple of hours per week.

Support offered:

There is always a member of staff on duty.


Please note this role will require two character references.

Professional boundary and confidentiality training will be covered during the induction meeting.
