Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has over 100 staff and 300 volunteers. Its mission is to end the need to sleep rough.
Turning Tides has an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to embark on a new role within our Littlehampton Community Hub as a Night Shelter Co-ordinator.
Turning Tides in partnership with Arun District Council, have been awarded funding by MHCLG (Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government) to provide a night shelter for those rough sleeping in Littlehampton. This new night shelter will provide a vital provision to those who are homeless, giving them somewhere warm and safe to sleep, over the coldest months.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team to support the introduction of this new service. The Co-ordinator will lead on completing all assessments for clients accessing the night shelter, including robust risk management plans and person centered support plans. With the aim of securing longer term suitable accommodation for clients, preventing them returning to rough sleeping.
The role will require you to work predominantly in the morning during the Hub opening hours with some hours in the evenings on a flexible rota basis. You will have good communication skills and an awareness of the issues that affect homeless individuals. You will be passionate about working for a charity that is striving for communities without homelessness.
