Deputy Housing Services Manager
Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has over 150 staff and 250 volunteers. Its mission is to end local homelessness.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, highly motivated and passionate deputy manager to develop, grow and improve on Turning Tides’ established Byron Road and Manor Road services in Worthing.
The services consist of Two large Victorian properties; the Byron Road service which provides 15 bed spaces, consisting of a large core house with rooms with shared communal resources and a separate annex building with self-contained units and disability access. While the 15 bed Manor Road service provides medium support provision for individuals who require a lower level of support and are moving towards living independently.
You will be a highly motivated individual, with leadership qualities and a flexible way of working. We would welcome applications from those that may not have management experience, but possess the qualities and values that align with Turning Tides’ mission to end homelessness.
Reporting to the Housing Services Manager, you will:
- Ensure that the service meets the needs of a diverse client group and continues to develop and adapt to meet changing needs.
- Support the development of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) in the service.
- With the Housing Services Manager, have the responsibility for ensuring the service is financially secure, delivered safely and effectively and meet all relevant health & safety and safeguarding requirements.
- Have the ability to lead a team and work with clients to deliver an effective and fully co-produced housing service.

- Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to drive results and innovation.
- A willingness to successfully deliver high quality services coupled with the ability to mentor teams, implement new service developments and create positive ‘move on’ outcomes for our clients.
- Good IT and data base skills
