Business Development Manager – Bids and Tenders

Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has over 150 staff and 250 volunteers. Its mission is to end local homelessness.

The post of Business Development Manager is an exciting role within the charity, and is vital in maximising income opportunities for Turning Tides to support and grow the services offered to its clients. The role will require a highly motivated individual who can demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking, and the ability to bring internal teams and external stakeholders together to develop projects, proposals and ideas. You will research and lead on the completion of large Trusts & Foundations grant applications, alongside compiling tenders, ably incorporating feedback from colleagues as appropriate. You will also line manage a small team of Business Development Officers and freelance bid writers.

Turning Tides are looking for someone with experience of working in a business development or bid writing role within the voluntary, public or private sector.  You must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage and plan your own workload and meet deadlines and targets is essential. Good IT skills are a must. The ideal candidate would be someone who believes in making a difference to local people’s lives, and has outstanding communication and written/numerical ability.
