Frequently Asked Questions

How large can a corporate volunteer group be?

We welcome individuals and small groups. We would suggest the maximum group size is 12. If you have a larger group, we may be able to consider this.

Where would corporate volunteering take place?

Corporate volunteering can be undertaken at any of our services across West Sussex. We have accommodation in Worthing, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex.

We would discuss the venue with the corporate organiser to ensure it is appropriate. We would attempt to place the group in a location most convenient for your employees.

Do you carry out risk assessments?

Yes, we do. Every volunteering day and location has a risk assessment completed beforehand.

Upon arrival, your team would have a Health and Safety briefing and a tour of the project so that fire regulations, amenities etc were known by all in attendance.

We also ask those participating to complete a simple One-Off Volunteering form so we have all the necessary information in an emergency, such as emergency contacts etc.

What does a volunteering day involve?

A volunteering day would obviously depend on the activity you are completing.

No two volunteering days are the same and the volunteering team will provide you with a specific itinerary for your group including location address, special instructions, clothing advice and timings.

A typical timetable is outlined below.

9.30am          Arrive, sign in, tea and coffee. Overview of the project, Health and Safety briefing and specifics of the activity
10am             Let the fun begin

Throughout the day there will be free flowing refreshments. We do not tend to have set breaks but of course individuals are encouraged to take breaks throughout the day.

12.30pm       Break for Lunch. We are unable to provide lunch, so we encourage participants to bring a packed lunch.

1pm               Back to it!

3.30pm        Finishing up, tidying up and putting tools away.

4pm              The day closes with a group photo.
