The Worthing Pride theme this year is, \u2018b<\/span>e whoever you want to be\u2019<\/span>,<\/span> a strength that runs through the LGBTQAI+ community<\/span>, and for our clients at Turning Tides<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Celebrating diversity, inclusivity and supporting our communities to be who they want to be, is a core value that we share with the Pride, and is often pertinent to our clients who may have had to overcome much adversity to rebuild their lives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This serves as one reason why we are delighted to be walking loud and proud with over 300 other local organisations in Saturday\u2019s Worthing Pride Parade,<\/a><\/span> and with the additional excitement of performances from<\/span><\/span>\u00a080s and 90s pop stars, including, Betty Boo, N-Trance and Five, this is a Pride not to be missed.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s put Worthing Pride on the map<\/h2>\n

After the past two years of isolation due to the pandemic this year\u2019s Worthing\u2019s Pride will give our local community the freedom to express themselves, including people we support, helping them to find the strength and belief in themselves, to create a brighter future.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday 9<\/span>th<\/span> July will see the free Pride Walking Parade return, where everyone is invited to the Prom to celebrate with\u00a0some of the best local businesses and community groups supporting the fabulous Pride March. The Parade will start outside the Burlington Hotel at 11am, heading east towards Steyne Gardens and arriving at 12pm ready for the gates of the park to open.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gary Richardson<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Creative Director said: \u201cWorthing has some fantastic live music events in the town. I\u2019m a big believer that the town deserves the \u2018real deal\u2019. I am so excited to bring the biggest boy and girl band of the \u201990s to Pride this year and really put Worthing on the map as one of the best local Prides the UK has to offer.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The p<\/span>roceeds from this year\u2019s event <\/span>will <\/span>go towards<\/span> the charity <\/span>Switchboard<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> who run a variety of services including<\/span> sections of the LGBTQ<\/span>AI+<\/span> community<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>living with or affected by dementia or concerned about memory loss.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ruth Poyner<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Turning Tides Head of Fundraising and Communications<\/span><\/span> explains, <\/span>\u201cPeople who have experienced homelessness often live with a deep fear of being judged. We want all our clients to thrive, and we work continuously to create an environment where they can feel comfortable and confident about proudly being themselves\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
