Turning lives around for over 30 years<\/h3>\n

Homelessness has so many possible root causes – domestic violence, debt, addiction, grief or mental health challenges, to name a few. We believe that real change comes from more than a roof over someone’s head. With kindness and experience, our team helps people tackle the issues behind their homelessness whether through counselling, substance use support or simply some guidance to get life back on track.<\/p>\n

Everyone’s first contact with Turning Tides looks different. <\/span>\u200bOur outreach teams connect with people sleeping rough every day, giving immediate help and advice.<\/p>\n

At every stage, we’re determined to help our clients find their own pathway out of homelessness and towards a brighter, more secure future. <\/span><\/p>\n

Turning Tides was a real safety net for me. I didn\u2019t have to worry about where my food was going to come from. I didn\u2019t have to worry about the heating, the water bill, or electricity. I was safe \u2013 the most secure type of accommodation I\u2019d experienced. I spent a lot of time just trying to process everything. Wanting to give up but still carrying on. There was no fight anymore. I remember my key worker at the time, Ruby \u2013 she was good at listening, Ruby \u2013 would ask where I saw myself. And for a long time, I wasn\u2019t able to give her an answer. But I did assure her when I\u2019m ready, I\u2019m going to get up, get moving and things will start moving fast from that point.<\/p>\n
