Collection Box Volunteer
Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Littlehampton, Horsham and the surrounding areas. We have over 80 staff and 300 volunteers. Our mission is to end the need to sleep rough.
Various – across Worthing, Littlehampton, Horsham and Shoreham.
To represent Turning Tides at various Community Events and collect donations from supporters.
The Collection Box Volunteer will report to our community fundraisers and represent Turning Tides at various community events and collections.
You will feel confident in answering questions about the work that Turning Tides do in our local communities.
You will return collection boxes to the fundraising team and when necessary assist with the counting of donated money from the boxes and tins in accordance with Turning Tides’s cash handling procedures.
Additional requirements to be adhered to at all times:
- To communicate with staff on duty.
- To be flexible to the needs of the staff member on duty if these dictate that the duties of the Volunteer change slightly during the shift.
- To abide by the Confidentiality and Professional Boundaries Policies at all times.
- To maintain at all times the Ethos of Turning Tides, offering equal access to services regardless of gender, race, colour, religion, sexual orientation, nationality or ethnic origin, educational status or disability.
Flexible – ad hoc.
Busiest periods tend to be throughout summer and over Christmas.
Knowledge of the work that Turning Tides do will be shared.
T-shirts, buckets, banners and literature will be provided to support you in your role.
Please note this role will require two character references.
Professional boundary and confidentiality training will be covered during the induction meeting.
