Client Volunteering Supporter
Turning Tides are a community led homelessness organisation that puts clients and local people at the heart of our mission to end homelessness.
Turning Tides Central Offices, Town Hall, Chapel Road, Worthing, occasional trips to services may be included.
Very flexible – options available Monday to Friday from 10am – 1pm or 1pm – 4pm.
Volunteering can be part of our clients’ pathway out of homelessness; an opportunity for clients to share skills, develop new ones, gain confidence and meet new people. We are looking for an individual to explore local volunteering opportunities for our clients and help connect clients with opportunities.
To identify volunteering opportunities available locally for our clients and support clients in accessing these.
This is an exciting opportunity to help Turning Tides develop a new resource for our clients. We are aiming to build a database of opportunities, building links with local organisations to identify volunteering activities for clients. Clients will be part of this development too, liaising with the Client Volunteering Supporter to ensure we develop a resource that works for them and meets their needs. There is scope for this role to develop to include holding 1:1 sessions with clients to help them apply for volunteering opportunities.
It is Turning Tides’ hope and expectation that volunteers will:
- be inclusive and welcoming.
- communicate with staff on duty.
- be flexible to the needs of the staff member on duty.
- abide by the Confidentiality, Professional Boundaries and Health and Safety Policies at all times.
Flexible, one morning or afternoon per week preferable.
Volunteers will be based alongside employees and receive full support.
Please note this role will require two character references.
Professional boundary and confidentiality training will be covered during the induction meeting.
