Salary £26,500 per annum (pro rata £15,900)
22.5 hours per week

Turning Tides mission is to end local homelessness in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. The charity has grown significantly over the last five years to be able to achieve this. In 2018 we acquired accommodation in East Grinstead, opened a 34 bed assessment centre in Worthing and set up an assertive outreach service to rough sleepers across Mid Sussex. We have over 100 staff and 300 volunteers.
The Bid Specialist is an exciting new role for the charity. You will be working closely with the Business Development lead, to further scope and maximise opportunities for Turning Tides, increasing our income generation and researching new funding opportunities in order to continue to deliver new services and programmes to be able to meet our mission to end local homelessness.
You will research and support the completion of trusts and grant applications, alongside the writing of tenders, ably incorporating feedback from colleagues as appropriate. The role will require creativity and innovative thinking, and the ability to bring internal teams and external stakeholders together to develop projects, proposals and ideas.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a business development, bid writing or practitioner/managerial role within the voluntary, public or private sector. The ideal candidate would be someone who believes in making a difference to local people’s lives, and has outstanding communication and writing ability.
You must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage and plan your own workload and meet deadlines and targets is essential. Good IT Skills are a must.
